Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in the coordination of direct patient care activities and provide clinical support to providers within our clinical practices.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patient flow and ensure a seamless experience
- Obtain vital signs, medication reconciliation, and patient medical history information
- Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, and physicians in a respectful manner
- Uphold Baptist's mission and core values that drive service excellence
- Manage the coordination and flow of patients throughout their visit
- Proactively check the provider's schedule and review information within the patient record
- Obtain any missing information from the patient to ensure accurate medical records
- Capture patient's vital signs, past medical, social, and family history, medication usage, and preferred pharmacy
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
- Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information
- Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate
- One of the following: prior working experience in a medical office/clinic, Certified MA from the National Health Career Association, or completed an MA education program
