Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech to join our team at SSM Health Orthopedics Wentzville. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging team.

Responsibilities
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide educational materials.
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams, positioning patients for procedures, and filing, delivering, and retrieving patient reports and charts.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, preventing unnecessary radiation exposure to patients.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor patient activity during procedures and report any abnormal activity, recommending updates or refinements to protocols as needed.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, maintaining a clean and orderly department.
  • Perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
Requirements
  • Completion of a radiology certification program.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire.
Work Environment

This is a part-time day shift position, with 24 hours/week, 2-12 hours/week, every 3rd weekend, and rotating holidays. The pay range starts at $23.86/hour, with daily pay available and shift differentials for night, weekend, and additional shifts. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
