We are seeking an accomplished Audit Manager to become a vital part of our esteemed CPA firm, recognized among the top 25 in the greater Chicagoland area. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor staff accountants within not-for-profit audit client engagement teams.
  • Design and implement training programs for team members.
  • Act as the Engagement Lead for specific not-for-profit client accounts, overseeing pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables.
  • Create detailed engagement work plans, budgets, and timelines, while monitoring project progress and communicating necessary adjustments.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with not-for-profit clients, ensuring high-quality service and integrity.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, keeping them informed about engagement progress and deliverables.
  • Develop tailored audit approaches and appropriate audit programs.
  • Review and prepare financial statements, footnotes, work papers, tax returns, management letters, and other attestation documents.
  • Exhibit creativity in addressing client issues and provide constructive recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Analyze client transactions and unique situations effectively.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues through thorough research and consultation as needed.
  • Oversee the audit and accounting processes, including resource allocation, budgeting, billing, and collection, while ensuring timely delivery of work products.
  • Maintain communication with clients post-engagement to ensure satisfaction.
  • Prepare Form 990 as part of not-for-profit audit engagements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience in not-for-profit accounting is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of taxation is beneficial.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of audit experience in a CPA firm is required.
