Billing Coordinator

Perinatal Associates of New Mexico is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time Billing Coordinator in our dynamic billing department. Our office is bustling, and the ideal candidate must be adept at managing both incoming inquiries and billing responsibilities concurrently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete daily financial deposit forms, ensuring all payments are accurately verified against our system, and submit to the Billing Manager for daily reconciliation.
- Generate and file necessary paper claims, ensuring all secondary claims are properly documented and primary remittances are attached.
- Proactively follow up on any claims that are rejected during transmission.
- Process credit card transactions and ensure daily postings are completed. Manage check deposits through the banking system.
- Address and resolve any denials or rejections of claims, resubmitting corrected claims and submitting required medical documentation.
- Review the Aged Trial Balance Report for outstanding insurance claims, verifying insurance details, contacting insurers, and resubmitting claims as necessary.
- Assist colleagues with inquiries related to insurance, payments, and claims processes.
Qualifications:
- Current certification from an accredited organization in medical billing (mandatory) and coding (preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical billing.
- Comprehensive understanding of third-party insurance providers, government payers, and medical billing reimbursement protocols.
- Familiarity with the IHS purchase order system for claims filing is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of handling rejected or denied claims to secure payment on outstanding balances.
