Position Overview
The Graduate Assistant for the Sport and Fitness Management Program plays a vital role in supporting the academic and operational aspects of the program. This position involves collaboration with faculty and staff to enhance the educational experience for graduate students.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Recruitment and Marketing**: Assist in promoting the Sport and Fitness Management graduate program to prospective students.
2. **Support for Instructors**: Provide assistance to graduate instructors with various tasks related to the program.

4. **Confidentiality**: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student and departmental records.

Essential Functions
- **Database Management**: Maintain comprehensive databases for current and former students.
- **Record Keeping**: Update and manage graduate records, including program of study and progress records.
- **Advising Support**: Maintain lists for graduate advisors and record minutes from graduate meetings.
- **Information Distribution**: Disseminate program information to inquiries and assist with recruitment activities, which may involve travel and attendance at events.
- **Website Management**: Update and manage content on the graduate program's website.
- **Social Media Engagement**: Facilitate the program's presence on social media platforms.
- **Research Assistance**: Support faculty with literature reviews, survey construction, and other research-related activities.
- **Teaching Support**: Provide assistance with teaching-related tasks as requested, including preparing materials and light grading.
- **Orientation and Support**: Assist with orientation activities for national and international students, including responding to inquiries and aiding in job searches.
- **Survey Management**: Distribute and summarize surveys for current and former students.
- **Miscellaneous Tasks**: Complete various departmental tasks as assigned, such as photocopying and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications
- **Required**: A completed baccalaureate degree and enrollment as a degree-seeking graduate student at Missouri Western State University, maintaining a minimum GPA.
- **Preferred**: A Bachelor's Degree in Management or a related field in Sport and Fitness.

Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications and database management.

Physical Requirements
This position primarily involves sedentary work, requiring the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
