Job Title: Group Fitness Manager

This is a key leadership role that oversees the Group Fitness program at a designated Genesis Health Clubs location. The successful candidate will be responsible for hiring, recruiting, scheduling, and training new Group Fitness staff, as well as working with the Director of Group Fitness and other Group Fitness Coordinators to develop and grow the program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute procedures as outlined in the Group Fitness manual
  • Work with other departments to achieve a minimum of 60% of new members using the facility at least 9 times a month
  • Elect three weekly Group Fitness classes as "sample classes" to attend every quarter
  • Train all Group Fitness instructors to teach safe and effective classes
  • Train all Group Fitness instructors to help, assist, motivate, and retain all members
  • Organize and schedule all Group Fitness classes as needed
  • Maintain microphones, stereo equipment, rooms, and equipment storage areas
  • Prepare and discuss weekly aerobic reports with the Club Manager
  • Promote all classes and events internally and externally
  • Perform all duties required for Group Fitness instructors
  • Attend all staff and club meetings and events
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with members and staff
  • Ensure all required documentation (daily reports, checklists, etc.) are completed in a timely manner
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations
Expectations:
  • Present a professional demeanor at all times when representing Genesis Health Clubs
  • Provide input in developing strategies to support club goals and objectives
  • Develop and build a team atmosphere among staff and department
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from members
Job Requirements:
  • Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Must hold current CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of start date
  • Certification by A.C.E., A.S.C.M., N.S.C.A., MOSSA, or other nationally recognized certification
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Customer service abilities
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with guests and other associates, including reading, writing, and speaking

Genesis Health Clubs offers a competitive salary range of $25,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year.
