Application Development Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Development Scientist to join our team at Kytopen. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing scientific applications and methods for our Flowfect technology.
Responsibilities:- Develop and optimize scientific applications or methods for our Flowfect technology
- Conduct experiments and analyze data to support product development and characterization
- Create technical protocols and scientific reports
- Prepare and follow standard operating procedures, batch records and other process documentation
- Work with external collaborators to define project workplans, align on deliverables and milestones, and technology transfer
- Serve as subject matter expert in internal and external scientific efforts utilizing the Flowfect technology
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions, collaboration with the field applications team to assist in the development of leading applications, utilizing VoC developed within the sales process
- Generate high-quality experimental reports for internal and external presentation and review
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in biological engineering, chemical engineering, immunology, or a related field
- At least 6 years of industry experience with a biotech, diagnostic, pharmaceutical company (at least 4 years with a Ph.D.), prior cell and gene therapy experience preferred
- Experience working in a regulated environment and building products according to Industry Standards
- Experience working with human HSC and/or immune cell biology, genetic manipulation of primary cell types, and viral and non-viral biomolecule delivery
- Experience managing or supervising junior employees
- Experience in standard processing techniques including multi-parameter flow cytometry, molecular biology, immunological assays, and cell culture
- Understanding of gene editing technologies (e.g. CRISPR, TALENs), in emerging cell therapy technologies
- Experience with design of experiments tools such as JMP and practical knowledge of statistical analysis
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, root-cause-analysis, and trouble-shooting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
