Position Responsibilities:
  • The LICSW Therapist will deliver structured, ethical, and culturally competent clinical counseling, adhering to the mental health service standards set forth by the District of Columbia.
  • Provide counseling, assessments, and reviews for clients, maintaining a positive and supportive demeanor towards the agency's mission and success.
  • MBI serves over 5,000 individuals through its mental health programs, with a commitment to advocate for and empower clients of all ages.
  • Conduct outpatient therapy and substance abuse services for individuals and families in both individual and group formats.
  • Perform mental health and substance abuse intakes and assessments, crafting tailored treatment plans.
  • Execute diagnostic assessments, including those conducted in community settings.
  • Engage in treatment team meetings and connect families with suitable services and agencies to promote overall health and wellbeing.
  • Facilitate new intakes by meeting weekly until appropriate assignments are established.
  • Manage therapy client assignments, including referrals to medical records.
  • Deliver therapy while maintaining an assigned caseload.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Managers and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement treatment plans and assessments.
  • Create detailed case management notes and input necessary information into relevant systems.
  • Ensure clinical supervision for the diagnostic and clinical teams, aligning with DBH/MHRS regulations and policies.
  • Follow up on contractor assessments during crises.
  • Assist Clinical Managers in assigning new intakes to teams, ensuring thorough follow-through on CSW assignments.
  • Provide clinical supervision to the diagnostic and clinician teams.
  • Review and approve clinical documentation from designated staff.
  • Maintain accurate client records in CREDIBLE regarding participation in mental health treatment.
  • Develop and revise policies, procedures, and directives in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, ensuring staff training and implementation.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Must hold a valid license in Washington DC as LPC, LICSW, or LMFT.
  • Preferred 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
