Job Overview

EHS Alaska Inc. is seeking an AutoCAD and Field Operations Technician: Our firm specializes in the identification of hazardous materials and is looking for a skilled individual to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AutoCAD and be capable of assisting with field operations, including inspections for hazardous materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience with AutoCAD drafting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Alaska, including remote areas, using various modes of transportation.
  • Pre-employment and random drug testing will be mandatory.

Under the guidance of Project Managers, this role will involve preparing computer-generated plans for projects aimed at the removal of hazardous materials from structures. The technician will receive training to conduct field surveys for hazardous materials and provide additional support to project managers as needed. Some travel and overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create technical drawings based on provided specifications or by generating new designs that indicate the location of hazardous materials and their recommended removal.
  2. Conduct surveys for hazardous materials.
  3. Operate monitoring equipment and participate in training for equipment operation.
  4. Attend training sessions to maintain all necessary certifications for hazardous materials.
  5. Complete physicals and drug testing as required by applicable regulations.
  6. Engage in staff meetings and contribute to team discussions.
  7. Uphold the reputation of EHS Alaska Inc. by maintaining client trust and confidentiality.
  8. Notify Project Managers of potential client leads and projects.
  9. Adhere to project and corporate confidentiality standards.
  10. Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  11. Climb ladders and work at heights safely.
  12. Crawl through confined spaces while carrying or pulling sampling equipment.
  13. Travel by air to remote job sites as necessary.
  14. Utilize various transportation methods common in rural Alaska.
  15. Work in confined spaces and underground, with the ability to wear a respirator when required.
  16. Be prepared to use alternative living arrangements in remote locations when necessary.
  17. Pass background checks as required for specific project access.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.
