Job Summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Drilling and Blasting Engineer Trainee to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of drilling and blasting strategies to optimize production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and execution of drilling and blasting operations to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and blasters to develop and implement best practices for drilling and blasting.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor drilling and blasting operations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of drilling and blasting operations, including shot reports and pre-charging surveys.
  • Work closely with plant management and blasting vendors to ensure delivery of blasting agents and equipment.
  • Perform administrative duties related to the blasting program, including computer-generated shot reports and post-blast surveys.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining or Explosive Engineering preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ATF employee possessor status.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain the necessary state blasting license.
  • Zero to three years of experience in mining preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use trade-related software and technical instruments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to various assigned locations, including interstate travel. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Language

This position requires fluency in English.
