Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care and assisting public health nurses and county programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer immunizations to patients of all ages according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform annual school and daycare immunization audits.
  • Complete quarterly reports.
  • Assist with annual scoliosis screenings.
  • Participate in health fairs and educational programs.
  • Perform TB screenings and administer PPD skin tests in clinic and outreach events.
  • Prepare to respond to public health emergencies and respond as directed.
  • Use computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data.
  • Participate in program planning.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues using proper terminology and cultural proficiency.
Requirements
  • PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 1: Annual salary $33,000, vocational/technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college, current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse, CPR certification, and completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.
  • PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 2: Annual salary $35,800, vocational/technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college, two years of LPN public health experience, current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and CPR certification.
  • PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 3: Annual salary $38,926.79, vocational/technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college, four years of LPN public health experience, current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public health experience.
  • Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS, and interviewing patients.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaking language.
