Job Title: Construction Manager 4

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager 4 to join our team in the Construction Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful completion of all activities related to the execution of assigned Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews project construction estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and costs for acceptability.
  • Participates in the resolution of problems involving staffing, material delivery, and contract/subcontract administration.
  • Coordinates with Project Management, Design Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, and other functional departments and personnel in establishing and maintaining priorities to ensure successful project execution.
  • Identifies issues for the project manager to ensure the success of the project.
  • Provides counseling, guidance, and direction to Site Managers to facilitate the successful execution of the construction project.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert level knowledge of all phases of construction operations, construction quality, subcontract management, construction technologies, and project management.
  • Understanding of government compliance standards, environmental laws, and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) managing construction projects or functional portfolios.
  • Experience working under nuclear quality standards (NQA-1, etc.).
  • Knowledge of LANL operations, policies, and procedures related to Construction Management combined with a knowledge of current LANL programs, operations, policies, and procedures.

Work Environment:

This position will be in Los Alamos, NM, USA, in support of Technical Area 55.
