Job Summary
Prosperity Bank is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Banking Professional to join our team. As a Commercial Banker, you will be responsible for growing and retaining profitable relationships with our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial banking products and services, as well as excellent client relationship skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Solicit commercial clients and aggressively seek new business opportunities through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross-selling efforts.
- Obtain and maintain client relationships, and attend networking events in the assigned geographic area.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of commercial and real estate loan products, and be able to structure and analyze loans.
- Generate a wide variety of commercial and real estate loans, and close loans typically in the $1 million to $10 million range.
- Contribute to deposit growth by cross-selling and promoting additional banking products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in banking, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Formally credit trained and/or underwriting knowledge and experience is preferred.
- Typically a minimum of seven years direct lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships.
- Familiarity with the sales, loan processing, and closing processes.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial banking products and services, including working knowledge of C&I and owner-occupied and investment commercial real estate loans.
- Ability to expand loans, client relationships, and cross-sell bank products.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven track record of business development.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with 40 hours per week.
