MBS Pro Staffing is seeking a Marine Equipment Technician. This role is a full-time direct hire opportunity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct mechanical maintenance and inspections on various marine equipment including Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG's), Ship to Shore (STS), Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG), Automated Stacking Cranes (ASC), Straddle Carriers, Munck Loader, Goliath Gantry, and Level Luffing cranes.
- Perform thorough on-site mechanical diagnostics to identify equipment failures and implement necessary repairs through visual assessments and testing protocols.
- Execute on-site repairs for customer cranes as part of maintenance agreements or in response to service requests.
- Maintain knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and other relevant industry regulations, ensuring compliance during all operations.
- Accurately complete all required daily documentation.
- Document and track any quotes provided to customers, ensuring follow-up communication.
- Review completed repairs with customers and obtain their acknowledgment on service reports.
- Keep an organized inventory of necessary forms and literature on the service vehicle.
- Manage stock levels of inventory and supplies on the service vehicle.
- Account for all company-issued tools and equipment.
- Generate leads for sales and services during customer interactions.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of service literature, policies, and pricing.
- Maintain regular communication with the local office and service supervisor.
- Handle procurement of basic parts for service jobs, completing purchase orders as needed.
- Participate in a fair distribution of on-call and overtime responsibilities.
- Conduct a 'Safety Audit' on limit switches and operational checks of any cranes serviced.
Education: High School Diploma required; an Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent vocational training is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in technical support and inspection of structures for repair needs.
