Job Summary

Licking County Information Technology Services is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our network team, you will be responsible for managing applications, implementing policies, and configuring hardware to ensure the security and reliability of our voice and data network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the senior network administrator on architecture standards, server consolidation, and network security projects.
  • Implement and monitor network security protocols by conducting regular audits, reviewing logs, and assisting other departments with audit questionnaires; identify and remediate security deficiencies to ensure compliance and safeguard network integrity.
  • Manage secure network access, including wireless and VPN configurations, and maintain user accounts in Active Directory.
  • Install, maintain, and repair hardware and software across departments, troubleshooting and resolving issues on-site as needed.
  • Monitor network performance and server health, managing CPU, memory, antivirus, and storage to ensure optimal functionality and high availability.
  • Configure network edge equipment, VLANs, and apply updates for performance and security.
  • Implement and enforce layered security policies (e.g., antivirus, URL filtering) and prepare confidential usage reports as required.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery, including proactive measures to ensure 24/7 public safety and telecommunications availability; remain accessible after hours and take immediate action during outages.
  • Maintain documentation on configurations, policies, and procedures for network administration and security.
  • Provide helpdesk support during peak times, assisting users with hardware, software, network, and phone issues; log actions taken to resolve each issue.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and adherence to schedule requirements.
  • Ensure safety compliance, attend training, and stay updated on industry practices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, network protocols, and design concepts.
  • Knowledge of creating and executing an incident response plan, including identifying, containing, and mitigating security breaches.
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM systems) to track user activity, detect anomalies, and investigate potential security incidents.
  • Managing user access using systems like Active Directory, LDAP, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • A valid driver's license.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on qualifications, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
