As a patient care assistant at the University of Michigan, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients. Our team is dedicated to delivering outstanding patient experiences, and we are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join us in this mission.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a patient care assistant to work on our evening shift, every other weekend and some holidays. This is a 0.8 FTE position, with an estimated salary range of $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Help with medication administration and documentation
  • Respond to call lights and alarms, and assist with emergency situations
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients
Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 months recent experience in a patient care setting
  • Ability to read and write, and communicate effectively with patients and staff
  • Certification as a Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant, preferred
