Position Title: Bindery Operator

Shift Availability:

  • Day Shift: 6am - 6pm (Rotating)
  • Night Shift: 6pm - 6am (Rotating)

Position Overview:

The Bindery Operator is responsible for executing both manual and machine operation tasks associated with the functioning of paper cutting and folding machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various paper cutter equipment including Polar, Inpro, and Perfecta.
  • Receive cutting orders and configure the cutter according to provided specifications.
  • Input automatic cutting programs into the machinery.
  • Utilize the paper cutter to trim blank stock and printed materials for further processing.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on cutting equipment, including blade changes, lubrication, and waxing.
  • Employ lift trucks to transport pallets of blank stock and printed materials between different areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Be available for overtime work as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting, especially with Flexo press operations.
  • Familiarity with screen printing, prepress, color management, and graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Capability to operate a forklift and conduct quality control inspections.
  • Understanding of machining, typography, layout design, print advertising, and CNC processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Capacity to visually inspect work for defects and differentiate colors.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
  • Regular walking and standing.
