About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Litigation Paralegal to join our team at AGG Legal Staffing. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to leverage their expertise in plaintiff litigation paralegals and make a meaningful contribution to our organization.

Job Summary:

  • This role will provide paraprofessional legal support to attorneys and clients in all stages of the litigation process, ensuring timely management and progression of files while striving to exceed client expectations through diligence and efficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Enter pertinent information into client files, including MVA details, insurance, property damage, and medical providers.
  2. Fully investigate each case, documenting findings in Filevine.
  3. Maintain contact with clients at a minimum of every 30 days and as needed.
  4. Verify potential insurance coverage and maintain contact with insurance carriers.
  5. Manage medical care of clients, including requesting medical and billing documentation.
  6. Understand and explain the litigation process to clients.
  7. Manage attorney's calendar by docketing meetings, court dates, hearings, and trials.
  8. Prepare case-specific documents, correspondences, and demand letters.
  9. Draft and file Notices, Motions, Subpoenas, and responses to Discovery requests.
  10. Manage and process correspondence with clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, etc.
  11. Maintain demand and mediation packages, IMEs, claim status updates to clients, insurance carriers, and lien holders/medical providers, and opposing counsel.
  12. Relay settlement negotiation from attorney to clients and adjusters using demands/offers in client files.
  13. Collect documentation of damages sustained, including medical records, bills, subrogation liens, loss of income, and property damage.
  14. Organize and maintain case files within Filevine.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate are required.
  • The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of plaintiff litigation paralegal experience.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, including personal injury claims, motor vehicle accidents, premise liability, and insurance within Kentucky, Indiana, and Federal Court Districts.
  • Familiarity with state agency regulations.
  • Knowledge of state and federal court procedures and e-filing.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Prioritization skills, juggling multiple activities, and working under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong writing skills, as the position requires a great deal of client communication.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office tools, including e-discovery software and document management platforms.
  • Familiarity with the firm's document management program, Filevine, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terms and traumatically induced conditions is helpful.
  • Knowledge of insurance coverage types and policies is helpful.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
