Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive, multi-shift warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, and work-in-progress/ready-to-ship departments.
  • Supervise off-site warehouse locations as designated.
  • Manage the dock scheduling system for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Collaborate with Scheduling and Production teams to address order shortages effectively.
  • Ensure inventory control measures maintain an accuracy rate of 98% or higher.
  • Facilitate the disposal of waste, surplus, expired components, and finished goods, utilizing charitable organizations when suitable.
  • Provide sales teams with insights on products nearing expiration to minimize the occurrence of expired items.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in the auditing process for compliance with quality specifications.
  • Analyze and recommend strategies for component consolidation, substitutions, and address potential issues with standard waste factors.
  • Work alongside Scheduling and Purchasing departments to optimize inventory levels, aiming for a 'just-in-time' approach.
  • Advise on capital investments for warehousing operations.
  • Monitor the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of goods movement and storage.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations regarding personal safety and the operation of all powered industrial trucks.
  • Lead the development and implementation of warehouse safety programs.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; or 7+ years of relevant experience in the food industry or a related field; or a combination of education and experience.
  • APICS certification is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, prioritization, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
