Salary and Benefits

We are offering a competitive salary for this role, with an estimated annual compensation ranging from $62,000 to $85,000, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive salary package, our benefits include:

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Critical Care Respiratory Specialist to join our team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a critical care respiratory specialist, you will be responsible for administering therapy modalities as ordered by physicians, performing all aspects of mechanical ventilators, and arterial puncture and blood gas analysis. You will also respond to code blue situations for assigned areas.

You will assist in the transport of ventilator and critically ill patients, verify physician orders prior to therapy treatment, and provide accurate reports to oncoming staff at shift end. Additionally, you will enter all patient contacts into appropriate systems, perform equipment rounds, and maintain a safe and clean work environment.


Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board Respiratory Care (NBRC), licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. You should also possess a Respiratory Therapy Degree – AAS or BS, and have at least one year of critical care experience. NICU experience and previous experience with mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis, and oximetry are highly desirable. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is also required.
