Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Flight Surgeon Physician to join our team. The successful candidate will provide health care to US and FMS members and their families assigned to the Flight Medicine Clinic, Occupational Health Clinic, or other civilian Flight Medicine physician positions.
Key Responsibilities- Examine patients, formulate differential diagnostic plans, and order appropriate diagnostic testing
- Interpret examination findings and test results, and implement treatment plans
- Determine the need for consultation and assist in medical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists
- Approve/disapprove subspecialty referrals, direct case management activities, and answer patient telephone consults with the assistance of clinic staff
- Provide primary and secondary preventive maintenance care
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree
- Completed clinical internship and residency
- Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support, including Evidence of Approved Continuing Medical/Health Education and current BLS
- Minimum of 35 hours of direct patient care in the past year
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the last 10 years having served as a privileged flight surgeon at a US Military installation
- Board certification in Aerospace Medicine
- Current U.S. Medical License and NPI Certification/Registration
