Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Chief Diversity and Inclusion Strategist to join our team. This position will play a critical role in promoting a campus environment that is inclusive, supportive, and respectful of all community members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the management of the Unity House Community, creating a vibrant environment for student engagement, programming, and diversity, equity, and inclusion events.
  • Design and facilitation of campus-wide training in diversity, equity, and inclusion for all students, including the Diversity Badging program, Safe Zone training, Warrior's Impact, and Orientation.
  • Development of new and innovative programs, oversight of planning high-impact programs coordinated by Intercultural Initiatives, such as Breaking Bread, Heritage/Awareness Months, First Gen Reception, and First Gen Day.
  • Support Peer Mentoring programs to promote the transition and retention of international, first-generation, and BIPOC students.
  • Collaboration with the Office of Student Involvement, advising student clubs and organizations dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in a related field required.
  • At least 4-6 years of professional experience working in higher education or a related field.
  • Commitment to and demonstrated ability to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion issues into work with diverse student populations.
  • Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and programming, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage competing demands.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Estimated Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
