As an Clerical Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our funeral home.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill this position. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks, utilizing computer software, taking inbound calls, scheduling appointments and events, greeting and assisting onsite guests, filing documents, ordering merchandise, coordinating with outside entities, and assisting client families as a liaison between them and the funeral director.Responsibilities
  • Efficiently manage day-to-day tasks.
  • Utilize computer software to complete tasks.
  • Take incoming calls and respond accordingly.
  • Schedule appointments and events in a timely manner.
  • Greet and assist onsite guests with professionalism.
  • Filing and organizing documents in a secure and efficient manner.
  • Ordering necessary merchandise such as caskets, urns, vaults, graves, flowers, etc.
  • Coordinate with outside entities such as cemeteries, crematories, insurance companies, etc.
  • Assist client families as a liaison between them and the funeral director.
  • Create custom items such as video tributes, funeral programs, and memorial blankets using user-friendly software.
  • Use SmartDirector computer software designed for the funeral industry.
  • Perform all other office tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in office administration or related fields (previous experience in a funeral home is a plus).
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Punctuality.
  • Ability to work well with clients and fellow employees.
  • A motivated self-starter.
BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $40,000-$55,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
