The Warehouse Operations Director oversees all aspects of warehouse activities, including the receipt and dispatch of goods. This role is crucial in managing warehouse processes to guarantee the precise and timely movement of products. Collaborates as a team member within the department and the organization, fulfilling any assigned duties to best support the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads warehouse staff, which includes responsibilities such as hiring, training, mentoring, performance evaluations, and resolving issues. Ensures that the team upholds professionalism, competence, and motivation through effective recruitment, development, and continuous assessment. Advocates for safety by reinforcing existing safety protocols, conducting safety meetings, and discussing workers' compensation matters.
- Collaborates closely with the Transportation Manager to maximize operational efficiency. Oversees the loading and unloading of trucks to ensure accuracy and timeliness by managing workload schedules and product deliveries within the warehouse. May operate powered material handling equipment in designated locations.
- Analyzes inventory status reports and coordinates with inventory personnel to ensure accurate stock counts are maintained to meet customer demands, while communicating about low stock levels, seasonal fluctuations, and promotional activities.
- Works with inventory staff to manage the return of outdated products to suppliers or to sell to alternative distributors as necessary.
- Ensures the upkeep of the facility and equipment by supervising maintenance and repair operations.
- Informs customers of stock shortages by relaying information to Customer Service Representatives, Warehouse Shift Supervisors, and Operations Managers regarding shortages, available alternatives, and documenting all relevant details.
- Maintains familiarity with and adheres to standardized operating procedures, ensuring all department personnel do the same.
- Performs additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience4-6 years of experience in warehouse operations and supervisory roles, with comprehensive knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures.
Strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and a talent for providing constructive feedback and coaching.
