Construction Accountant

Charities Housing Development Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Construction Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial guidance and support to our development projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, supervise, and oversee accounting activities of development projects under construction.
- Enter pay applications and reconcile retention.
- Process payments to general contractors.
- Enter and process construction payables.
- Monitor cash balance in construction accounts.
- Advance and record advance funds from parent company as required.
- Monitor balance of advances against board-approved amounts.
- Monitor transfer of funds from reserve accounts to cover operational advances.
- Monitor amount of parent company funds spent on pre-development projects and withdraw from reserve account as necessary.
- Ensure accurate recording of loan draw funds received from lenders.
- Process funds returns to reserve accounts on funding of lender draws.
- Direct monitoring of lender loan balances.
- Ensure recording of draws in Yardi.
- Record monthly interest for construction loans.
- Oversee and calculate interest for parent company loans to projects.
- Process reconciling of construction cash accounts.
- Charge rent, receive and deposit rent, and monitor past due balances for pre-development projects with commercial tenants.
- Monitor and send utility statements to facilities manager for preparation of CAM charges bi-monthly for commercial tenants.
- Enter CAM charges into Yardi.
- Ensure CAM charge statements are sent to tenants at pre-development properties with commercial tenants.
- Assist and respond to inquiries received from the development team.
- Prepare, review, and present staff reports, various management and information updates, and reports on special projects as assigned by finance manager and controller.
- Prepare and provide financial information to auditors.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Two years in a supervisory or management capacity.
