Data Center Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This role is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You will work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

As a Data Center Technician, you will be the primary resolver and troubleshoot and solve a range of datacenter infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems. You will use IT principles like computer architecture and the OSI model to find solutions to problems and maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.

This position requires a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and 2+ years of experience with server hardware and 1+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems. Active Security+ certification is also required or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of start.

Key Responsibilities

Engage in physical data center activities with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting and moving material up to 49 pounds each, working in cramped and/or elevated locations, bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day, ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation, and work in a noisy environment.

Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).

Requirements

Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience

2+ years of experience with server hardware and 1+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems

Active Security+ certification or ability to obtain one within 90 days of start.
