Quality Assurance Specialist

Wolverine Tube Inc. is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to excellence through rigorous testing and inspection processes.
Key Responsibilities- Sample Preparation: Prepare test samples for mechanical evaluation utilizing circular and table saws.
- Testing Procedures: Execute a range of mechanical tests on production materials to verify compliance with established specifications, including inbound materials from suppliers and outbound products for distribution.
- Data Entry: Accurately input all mechanical test results into the ERP system.
- Quality Audits: Conduct daily audits to ensure adherence to quality control procedures throughout all production stages.
- Issue Documentation: Record quality concerns and communicate findings with the production team, noting corrective actions taken.
- Team Education: Provide training to the production team on quality control practices and collaborate with departmental managers to enhance overall safety and product quality.
- Process Coordination: Review process checklists and coordinate quality inspections with relevant managers.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the production team to achieve operational goals.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Proven experience as a Quality Technician or Inspector.
- Strong understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Exceptional visual acuity.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in report drafting and data compilation.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret technical information.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods.
- Experience operating forklifts and side loaders is advantageous.
- Background in industrial manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Availability for night shifts and weekends, with potential for overtime.
- Ability to read and comprehend production documents and safety manuals.
- Basic proficiency in math, reading, and writing.
- Strong communication skills.
- Commitment to safety policies and procedures.
- Positive demeanor and teamwork orientation.
- Willingness to participate in all safety and production training sessions.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to dust, fumes, and varying temperatures.
- Capacity to perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and reach overhead, with sufficient manual dexterity for all job functions.
- Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work 12-hour shifts primarily in a standing position.
