Overview
We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Supervisor to oversee custodial and maintenance operations within a significant facility. This role is crucial for ensuring that all maintenance tasks are executed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff, ensuring work is assigned and completed to high standards.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance tasks for buildings and grounds, ensuring all areas are well-maintained.
- Establish and uphold maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity and safety of the facilities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training to staff to enhance their skills and efficiency.
- Act as a liaison with other departments and external agencies regarding maintenance policies and procedures.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify repair needs and implement solutions promptly.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring timely procurement as necessary.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of six years of experience in large building maintenance, with at least two years in a supervisory role. Experience in technical maintenance duties on large compounds or military installations may be considered equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting building systems, including HVAC and electrical systems.
- Experience in large-scale grounds maintenance, including landscaping and snow removal.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and work order management systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Work Environment:
This position may involve exposure to various physical demands and working conditions typical of maintenance roles. Candidates must maintain physical fitness to perform job duties effectively.
