About the Role:
The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a skilled Food Service Assistant to join our team. As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of food service to our residents and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record proper temperature of food to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area, adhering to strict health and safety standards
- Prepare and serve food items, including menu planning and inventory management
- Restock food areas, clean and sanitize equipment, and maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Previous customer service experience, retail counting, and reconciliation of money
- Knowledge of food service and safety procedures
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- Basic math skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the food industry
- Knowledge of Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines
