Key Responsibilities:
- Drive operational enhancements through comprehensive manufacturing engineering assessments of current processes against future needs, focusing on capacity, cost efficiency, safety, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee a continuous improvement team tasked with conducting work analysis and implementing value stream enhancements.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to formulate and execute continuous improvement strategies based on performance metrics and strategic objectives.
- Lead lean initiatives, including value stream mapping and cross-functional improvement projects.
- Guide and develop Manufacturing Engineers, Process Technicians, and leadership in lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Address production flow challenges as they arise and devise effective solutions.
- Create, implement, and revise documentation and training materials.
- Contribute to plant-wide initiatives related to safety, quality, environmental standards, and production control to optimize operations.
Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
- A four-year technical degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a two-year technical degree with 10 years of experience; or 15 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- In-depth knowledge of Operational Excellence practices, including Continuous Improvement Events, Value Stream Mapping, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and 5S methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership and coaching capabilities.
- Proven analytical and decision-making proficiency.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with diverse personnel across various organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driving privileges are required.
- Minimal travel (0-5%) and occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
