Job Summary

Arlington ISD is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Inclusion Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Inclusion Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing students with disabilities with the support and accommodations they need to succeed in the general education classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in the general education classroom, using a variety of instructional strategies and technologies.
  • Work with students, parents, and other staff members to identify and address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students with disabilities.
  • Participate in ARD committee meetings to develop and implement IEPs, and to monitor student progress.
  • Use data-driven instruction to inform teaching practices and to improve student outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members to ensure that students with disabilities receive the support and accommodations they need to succeed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Texas teacher certification with special education endorsements.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in inclusive settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with general education teachers and other staff members.
  • Knowledge of and experience with assistive technology and other accommodations for students with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with severe disabilities.
  • Knowledge of and experience with positive behavioral supports and interventions.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.
Working Conditions

The Special Education Inclusion Teacher will work in a variety of settings, including general education classrooms, special education classrooms, and other district facilities. The teacher will be required to lift and move students with disabilities, and to use assistive technology and other accommodations to support student learning.
