Job Overview

Position Title: Clinical Coordinator - Surgical Technology

Work Hours: 8am-5pm or 6:30am-3pm

Role Summary: The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for various essential functions including the education of students, the establishment and maintenance of clinical partnerships, oversight of students in clinical environments, and the management of clinical education documentation.

This role necessitates a commitment to the core values upheld by CHCP, which serve as the foundational principles guiding our daily operations. These values are a concise set of enduring guidelines that we adhere to in all aspects of our work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and sustain clinical partnerships for practical training and externship opportunities.
  • Coordinate clinical rotation schedules and assign faculty to clinical staff.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to clinical faculty members.
  • Compile and maintain records, including case logs and clinical evaluations.
  • Ensure students fulfill clinical affiliate prerequisites for their rotations.
  • Maintain an accurate record of student grades in a secure electronic or physical format.
  • Report on student academic progress and submit final grades to the Program Director/Registrar.
  • Participate in mandatory faculty meetings and professional development activities.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development activities.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant state, federal, institutional, and programmatic regulations.
  • Comply with academic policies and procedures.
  • Assist with student advising as needed.
  • Support the Director of Education/Education Coordination with administrative tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree is required.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist from a National Certification program accredited by the NCCA.
  • A minimum of four years of experience working as a surgical technologist.
