Production Support Specialist

The Production Support role is a vital part of maintaining efficient plant operations at Talan Products. As a key member of our team, you will assist with various processes, ensure workplace safety, and provide support across production and shipping areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Follow all company and equipment operation safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Recommend measures to improve safety, production methods, and equipment performance to enhance plant workflow.
- Work on assigned projects to improve plant efficiency and recommend process improvements.
- Update and maintain shadow boards, audit findings, and report as necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collect start-of-shift checklists, audit die set sheets, and ensure completion to maintain a high level of quality and productivity.
- Assist with process operating instructions and maintain revisions documentation to ensure up-to-date information.
- Maintain die set board and open/close shop as scheduled to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide support in packaging, quality, maintenance, shipping, and receiving functions to ensure a seamless workflow.
- Operate lift truck and fill in as press operator as needed to meet production demands.
- Enter daily labor records on timecards to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and free of debris to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Assist with timecard collection and review for accuracy, reporting discrepancies to ensure compliance and fairness.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business requirements and skills to ensure flexibility and adaptability.
- Previous assembly or manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality to ensure high-quality products.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to understand production requirements.
- Proficient in using hand tools like wrenches, drills, and sockets to perform tasks efficiently.
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity to handle equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Basic math proficiency to perform calculations and measurements accurately.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with team members and management.
- Ability to understand and follow written, oral, and diagram instructions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Efficient work ethic in fast-paced environments to meet production demands and deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Openness to learning and adapting to new processes to ensure continuous improvement and growth.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals to ensure compliance and accuracy.
The employee must be able to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and work comfortably in a noisy and potentially hazardous industrial environment. Additionally, they should be capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods. During job duties, the employee may also need to sit, stoop, kneel, climb, or balance occasionally. They must frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and a risk of electrical shock. There is occasional exposure to high, precarious places, and specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment often features loud noise levels due to moving mechanical parts.
