Community Options is seeking a skilled Disability Employment Specialist to join our team in Princeton, NJ. As a Disability Employment Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in gaining and maintaining successful employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized employment plans to support individuals in achieving their career goals
  • Provide training and support to individuals in developing the skills and confidence needed to secure and maintain employment
  • Collaborate with employers to identify job opportunities and provide support to individuals in the workplace
  • Conduct job analyses and develop job-specific supports to ensure individuals have the necessary tools to succeed in their roles
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of employment plans and make adjustments as needed
  • Communicate progress updates to employers, family members, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of program activities and outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as special education or rehabilitation counseling
  • Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
