About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Trajectory Analyst II to join our team at Blue Origin, a pioneering company in the field of space exploration. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the development and operations of our New Glenn launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize Earth-to-orbit trajectories for a range of launch vehicle configurations, including modeling kinematic and dynamic characteristics.
  • Develop integrated design solutions and assess conceptual designs for launch vehicle systems.
  • Support trade studies on system design and architectures, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Document and maintain analysis inputs, models, and reports, ensuring seamless collaboration with the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in trajectory optimization, GNC, mission design, or advanced degree.
  • Strong orbital mechanics and flight mechanics/dynamics fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships.
  • U.S. citizenship or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in launch, spacecraft, and reentry systems.
  • Proficiency in trajectory analysis tools such as POST, OTIS, STK Astrogator, or Copernicus.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and experience with aerodynamic modeling, stability, or control design.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and flight safety analysis and post-flight data analysis.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
