Job Summary:
As a Shop Equipment Technician at Entergy, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to perform a variety of electrical equipment testing and repair activities in accordance with Entergy's standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair oil-filled electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct testing of hot stick and grounds at various Entergy Power Delivery and Generation locations to ensure compliance with OSHA and Entergy safety regulations.
- Load oil-filled equipment onto trailers for shipment to designated facilities for disposal.
- Operate powered industrial trucks and jib cranes to handle equipment safely and efficiently.
- Paint and finish oil-filled electrical equipment to maintain a high level of quality and appearance.
- Properly label and package equipment according to Entergy specifications for shipment to end users.
- Perform general housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow safety rules and regulations, and assist the shop crew to meet daily goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall goals and objectives of the shop.
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in shop operations and/or industrial or electrical tool testing preferred.
- Familiarity with nomenclature of electrical materials, basic math calculations, and some knowledge of environmental regulations and requirements.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial trucks and other tools common in a shop environment.
