Established in Taiwan in 1958 as a cooking oil retail business, Din Tai Fung transformed into a dumpling and noodle restaurant in 1972. Role Overview: Beverage Specialists / Expos are tasked with preparing all beverages in the Boba section, presenting appetizer dishes, and packaging takeout orders following Din Tai Fung's established recipes and standard operating procedures (SOPs). They are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the Boba, Side Station, and Packing areas, conducting regular inventory checks, and restocking essential supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

Beverage Specialist Duties:
  • Prepare all beverages in the Boba section according to Din Tai Fung's established recipes and SOPs
  • Plate and garnish beverages in accordance with Din Tai Fung's standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Boba station
  • Conduct inventory checks for Boba supplies and restock as needed
  • Assist with packing takeout orders
  • Label all items in compliance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings
Expo Duties:
  • Plate appetizers following Din Tai Fung's plating guidelines
  • Prepare ginger plates and water glasses during downtime
  • Keep the Side Station clean, organized, and sanitized
  • Manage and coordinate all takeout orders for the restaurant
  • Pack takeout orders according to Din Tai Fung's Takeout Packing SOPs
  • Conduct inventory checks and restock necessary items for the Packing station
  • Label all items in compliance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings
Supporting Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are clean and sanitized
  • Organize items within walk-in coolers and freezers
  • Lift/move boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds)
  • Assist with regular deep cleaning of the kitchen
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all proprietary information, including recipes and SOPs
