Product Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team at LHH. This is a dynamic, onsite role that requires collaboration across multiple departments, providing support in sales, customer relations, production, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Support: Provide technical expertise to the sales team, assist with product presentations, and offer insight into product capabilities to potential clients.
  • Customer Support: Act as a key liaison between the customer and internal teams, addressing technical queries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Shop Support: Work closely with the production team to provide engineering support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth workflow in the manufacturing process.
  • Drawings and Approvals: Create, review, and approve technical drawings, ensuring all designs meet regulatory standards and customer specifications.
  • Engineering Specifications: Develop and manage detailed engineering specifications for products, ensuring they align with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Project Costing: Accurately estimate project costs, working within budgetary constraints while ensuring the quality and feasibility of the project.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments for projects, identifying potential challenges and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Project Schedule Creation and Reporting: Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all project milestones. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • Project Work Plans: Create and execute detailed project work plans, ensuring all team members are aligned and project goals are met on schedule.
  • Test Procedures: Develop and oversee test procedures to ensure products meet quality standards and perform as expected in the field.
  • Project Updates: Provide regular status updates on projects, identifying any delays or issues, and working with teams to resolve them quickly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a product engineering or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, technical drawing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with project management, including scheduling, costing, and reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with sales, production, and customer support teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools and project management software.
  • SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor
