Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lifeguard to join our team at the YMCA of South Palm Beach County. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our members and guests while they enjoy our aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Provide consistent surveillance of the pool area using the 10:10 rule of scanning.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness and be able to perform water rescues and other duties as required.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and members to ensure a smooth and safe experience.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current YMCA Lifeguard Certification.
  • Current ASHI CPR-BLS, ASHI First Aid, and ASHI Oxygen certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of physical fitness and perform water rescues.
Working Conditions
  • May be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • May be required to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with staff and members.
