Job Title: Lifeguard

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at the YMCA of South Palm Beach County. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our members and guests while they enjoy our aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Provide consistent surveillance of the pool area and respond promptly to any emergencies.
  • Perform water rescues, CPR, and first aid as necessary to ensure the well-being of our members and guests.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and members to ensure a smooth and safe experience.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pool area, including the deck and surrounding areas.
Requirements:
  • Certified Lifeguard with current YMCA Lifeguard Certification.
  • Current ASHI CPR-BLS, ASHI First Aid, and ASHI Oxygen certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
Working Conditions:
  • May be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to receive and follow detailed instructions.
  • Must be alert at all times and keep safety in mind.
