About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at Niagara Bottling. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and monitoring preventative and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our facilities, machinery, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance of injection molding, blow molding, and packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Direct and manage the activities of the maintenance department, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to schedule preventative maintenance activities and ensure seamless production operations.
- Build and lead a high-performing maintenance team that is responsible for maintaining production equipment in excellent condition, ensuring high efficiency, and maintaining proper stock of parts.
- Oversee outside contractors performing installations and projects at our facility, ensuring timely completion and quality of work.
- Interface with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met and that all maintenance activities are aligned with business objectives.
- Hire, train, coach, and review the performance of maintenance team members, working closely with HR on employee discipline issues, terminations, and recruitment.
- Oversee safety team activities, monitor and enforce safety requirements, and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Develop and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist maintenance team members in solving work problems.
- Maintain accurate time and maintenance records, and develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
- Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
- 6 years of experience in a position similar to this role.
- 4 years of experience managing people and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
- 10+ years of experience working in a position similar to this role.
