Job Summary

The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a highly skilled Research Technologist to join our team in the Penn Cytomics and Cell Sorting Shared Resource Laboratory. As a Research Technologist, you will be responsible for performing hazard assessment and biohazardous cell sorting, developing and implementing best practices for biohazardous sorting, and contributing to new assay development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pathogenic cell sorting and develop best practices for biohazardous sorting
  • Contribute to new assay development and present data at national settings
  • Oversee biohazardous materials sorting training and participate in basic sorter operation training

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ASCP Specialist in Cytometry accreditation required
  • High-level proficiency with cell sorters, flow cytometers, and enhanced biosafety procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
