Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Inspection and Diagnostics: Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, loaders, and cranes, to identify mechanical issues.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and routine maintenance on equipment, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain necessary parts, tools, and supplies to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance work, and parts used. Complete service reports and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety regulations and protocols while working on equipment. Follow company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, operators, and supervisors to resolve equipment issues and support overall team objectives.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or in a similar role or completion of a Diesel Technician program or school.
  • Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Experience with various types of heavy equipment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, OEM-specific certifications) are a plus.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks.
