Position: Cement Terminal Specialist
Reports to: Terminal Manager
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday Summer Hours: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM Winter Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM EST (occasional Saturdays)
Compensation: $19 - $21 per hour

Your Contributions:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Efficiently receive, position, and unload hopper rail cars or trucks, reporting any operational or maintenance issues to the Terminal Supervisor.
- Load customer vehicles and common carriers promptly, ensuring compliance with load limits and environmental standards.
- Prepare shipping documents and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct emergency, routine, and preventive maintenance on terminal equipment as per the maintenance schedule.
- Propose cost-saving measures and process improvements.
- Keep the terminal environment clean and organized, reflecting the company's professional image.
- Support safety initiatives through proper use of safety equipment and adherence to safe work practices.
- Manage special projects or assignments as required.
- Be capable of independently managing terminal operations for brief periods after training.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and comprehend safety labels, instructions, and signage.
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
- Preferred experience of at least one year in a similar role.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling documentation.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Mechanical aptitude is advantageous.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and proficiency in MS Word and Excel is a plus.
- Strong safety awareness and compliance with safety regulations.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with truck drivers, customers, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to memorize significant information.
- Physical capability to climb stairs multiple times daily and lift up to 74 lbs.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces.
Working Environment:
Expect to work in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to cement dust, varying temperatures, and noise levels. Compliance with safety protocols is essential, especially when working at heights of up to 250 feet and in all weather conditions. Operating mobile equipment may involve exposure to vibrations.
