Job Title: Business Services Representative

EAC Network, a leading social service agency, seeks a highly motivated Business Services Representative to join its Career Services program. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in implementing employment strategies that provide skilled employees to businesses and help job seekers find work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform outreach to employers and business associations to promote business services available at HempsteadWorks.
  • Assist employers in completing job order forms and promoting their open positions.
  • Develop job descriptions and training plans through research of O'Net.
  • Coordinate with employers to host hiring/recruitment events.
  • Create flyers for events and post them on the HempsteadWorks website.
  • Collaborate with career counselors to identify viable candidates to fill employer positions.
  • Promote training programs to employers, including incumbent worker training, customized training, on-the-job training, and internships.
  • Develop internships and on-the-job training programs.
  • Monitor businesses to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Provide businesses with information on employment and labor issues, tax credits, and financial incentives.
  • Acquire new business members for the Hempstead/Long Beach Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB).
  • Keep records of employer events, number of attendees, and job placements.
  • Attend staff webinars, workshops, and trainings.
  • Collaborate with consultants, partners, staff, businesses, and business associations to conduct sector-based business services.
  • Provide reports and perform clerical duties as required.
  • Make presentations to the LWDB, Youth Standing Committee, and other entities.
  • Conduct surveys and acquire workforce intelligence for grant development and planning purposes.
  • Represent the LWDB on the Long Island Business Services Team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must have access to an automobile and possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to foster relationships with businesses.
  • Proficiency in computer applications or other automated systems, such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email, and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
