Position Overview:
The Chief Lending Officer will oversee the provision of lending and business services to our members, encompassing commercial, consumer, indirect, and real estate lending. This role involves developing and maintaining comprehensive commercial and business services, including treasury management and payroll services. The Chief Lending Officer will also engage in the creation and execution of strategic organizational plans, ensuring that the credit union achieves its financial, operational, service, and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Commercial and Business Services, Consumer, Indirect, and Real Estate lending teams to align with organizational goals.
- Oversee product delivery, processes, and service quality, providing guidance and approval for underwriting decisions.
- Develop strategies for credit, debit, prepaid, ATMs, and payroll card programs while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee system configurations, expense analysis, and fraud mitigation.
- Recruit, train, and mentor direct reports, focusing on leadership development and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Engage with retail leadership and business development teams, maintaining a presence at all retail locations.
- Prioritize member and team member experiences, responding promptly to their needs.
- Conduct performance evaluations and allocate resources effectively within the department.
- Formulate and implement strategies for commercial and consumer loan and deposit programs, establishing annual sales goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, serving on the ALCO and Lending Strategy Committee.
- Represent the credit union in relationships with members and other financial institutions.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with a Master's degree (MBA) preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial institution is required, including at least 5 years in commercial services and 5 years in real estate and consumer lending. Prior experience in retail or customer experience management is strongly preferred.
