Job Summary:

AVANCE-San Antonio, Inc. is seeking an experienced Family Engagement Specialist to join our team in Uvalde. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to families in our Early Head Start and Head Start programs.

About the Role:

The Family Engagement Specialist will be responsible for promoting and supporting family engagement strategies that foster strong relationships between families, teachers, and community partners. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families.

Key Responsibilities:

- Promote and model the organization's Core Values, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to program policies and procedures.
- Adhere to Head Start requirements, directly assess family strengths and needs, and complete individual partnership agreements and family service plans.
- Monitor family files, ensuring follow-up of family referrals and coordination of resources with outside community agencies and individuals.
- Serve as an advocate or broker to link families with needed resources and services.
- Comply with all social work data requirements, schedule assessments and service plans, and maintain up-to-date contact documentation.
- Prepare need assessments, participate in staffing, and formulate a set plan of action to support staff efforts to meet participant needs.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a concentration in Social Work or a related field.
- One year's experience with high-risk families and familiarity with case management systems.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with proficiency in current Office software.
- Ability to speak Spanish fluently is helpful, but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
