Salary

The salary range for this role is estimated to be $100,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience. This includes a bonus structure, benefits package, vacation time, and eligibility for a 401(k) plan.

Job Description

The Brand Manager, Innovation will be responsible for developing and executing a multi-year innovation pipeline that aligns with the company's growth strategy and drives financial targets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Development
    • Work closely with the Director to develop a comprehensive brand innovation strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's growth ambitions and financial targets.
    • Translate consumer research, syndicated data, and market trends into winning concepts that fuel the brand's growth and enhance its equity.
  • Concept Validation
    • Ongoing management of the brand's 4:2:1 plans (pipelines)
  • Delivery and Execution
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure flawless execution of the innovation pipeline from concept to launch, including new food projects and product portfolio adjustments.
    • Lead marketing efforts through the innovation stage gate process, working closely with R&D, Consumer Insights, Sales, Operations, and other stakeholders.
    • Partner with Sales to develop channel and customer-level understanding, informing packaging, pricing, placement, and promotional strategies.
    • Brief Creative teams and external agencies on innovation-related design needs, utilizing defined roles to manage processes and garner feedback/approvals as necessary.
    • Work with Sales, Consumer Insights, and Finance to develop new item forecasts and projections, aligning with financial hurdles and mitigating waste potential.
    • Develop internal and external sell-in stories for innovation, articulating strategic business rationale, consumer problems to be solved, and excitement for successful innovations.
    • Post-launch tracking and integration of learnings into pipeline development.
  • Innovation Team Support
    • Data hygiene and budget management, among other support functions.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • 6-8 years of experience in CPG marketing for food manufacturing, preferably with a passion for the Natural Products industry.
  • A Bachelor of Science/Arts degree.
  • An understanding of Nielsen Data, including POS and Panel insights.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge and experience managing a P&L.
  • A passion for consumer insights and innovation curiosity.
  • A performance mindset, with a bias for setting and measuring KPIs on an ongoing basis.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and influence across functions and leadership levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Stage Gate process for innovation initiative management.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask against complex projects.
  • An entrepreneurial and methodical approach to work.
  • Results-oriented, with high expectations for self and team performance.
  • A collaborative mindset, with strength in receiving and communicating feedback effectively.
  • A passion for the health and wellness lifestyle space.
Location
