About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Specialist to join our team at Providence Swedish. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule new patients and follow-up appointments, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Acquire insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations, streamlining the patient intake process.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile billing issues and resolve patient concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to phone calls and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of Oncology administrative training within six months.
  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire, Medical Terminology Certification or successful completion of a Medical Terminology course.
  • 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred (i.e. physician's office, scheduler, etc.).
  • Experienced in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations.
