Department: Commercial Lending
The Loan Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in supporting designated commercial loan officers and managing associated loan portfolios. This position involves conducting thorough assessments of the creditworthiness of both new loan applicants and existing clients. The manager will collaborate with loan officers to gather essential information from applicants, evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of all parties involved to assist the bank in making informed credit decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive analyses of assigned loan portfolios promptly.
- Evaluate business and personal financial statements, cash flows, and tax returns utilizing the bank's software tools.
- Underwrite new loans and manage renewals effectively.
- Enhance analysis with research from various sources, including the bank's data systems and market databases, to assess client, competitor, and industry risks.
- Proactively assist in monitoring financial covenant requirements within the assigned portfolio.
- Support loan officers in modifying client credit requests and managing the annual renewal process while tracking client financial reporting requirements.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or 3-5 years of relevant experience in a financial services environment.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work independently.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in underwriting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth understanding of various financial statement types and formats.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis necessary for conducting annual reviews.
- Ability to justify and defend decisions regarding recommended credit structures and analyses.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in underwriting for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans is highly desirable.
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Proficient in operating a computer keyboard, mouse, and other components.
- Ability to communicate and exchange information with all levels of staff.
- Capability to observe and identify relevant data.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
